Meggie was ten years old when she was killed on the morning of May 15, 2008. She
was the pick female out of a long planned breeding of Breaker and Meeko and
finished her AKC and UKC championships in rapid succession. She produced two
litters, with an very high percentage of champions including group placing and
winning offspring. One puppy was given to a young girl with cancer to comfort
and play with her before she died. Meggie was Edward's puppy. After retiring
from showing and breeding, she rode "shotgun" for me to protect me from cattle
climbing in the truck when I was feeding alone, and as watchdog on long trips
pulling cattle or horses. She dressed up for Christmas and comforted old folks
at the local nursing home and she and Charlie raised a record amount for the
local shelter for women. Meggie wasn't a dog, she was part of our family.
