Thunderpas began back in 1976 when I desperately wanted a dog and needed one that was "non-allergenic".   The American Eskimo was an obvious choice, especially after years of hearing how beautiful, smart and generally wonderful they were from my father, who had one back in the 1920's.

And then Laika came into my life - with a bang!  She was followed shortly thereafter by Johnny, a rescue dog.  My home was Johnny's fourth.  He was a superb show dog, but his bad luck had earned him a reputation for aggression and destruction.  With lots of work and "tender, loving care" he became a wonderful ambassador of the breed.  As the saying goes, one is not enough, and Woof (my first puppy) and then Faun joined the family.  Johnny's success in the show ring hooked me on showing, and we traveled all over, collecting trophies, friends, and generally having fun - all on a peanut butter budget.  Bob joined our group in 1990, along with Astraea and Athena, Misty's last children.

We do not breed often, and each litter is carefully planned.  My education in genetics is a large factor in selection of the parents-to-be.  All of our dogs are OFA tested for soundness and eyes certified clear by CERF.  We WILL NOT breed a dog who does not pass.  We offer a health guarantee, and a purchase contract is required.  If you would like to see some of our puppies, or are interested in buying a Thunderpas puppy, please see our Puppy Page.
