Showing Off

August 2, 2001.... my best friend, my shadow, my protector, my dog, Thunder passed away today. He was 15 in March. Many of those especially on the east coast remember him as a young dog when I showed him first in conformation then obedience. His formal name was GR CH U-CDX Sweetwater Thunderpas CD. His sire was Natl. GR CH Sierra's Panda Bear out of GR CH U-CD Aqua Mist Royal Echo (also bred by Diana Allen). He was truly a unique dog - not one of these "soft dogs" but a dog who thought he was number one and no one would ever tell him otherwise. He was one of those rare dogs who leave us desolate when they are gone, who still followed me everywhere even with his last breath. I hope he is now free of the limits of his old body, once again scaling hills, leaping fences, roaring his challenge to all comers.

He sired numerous AKC CH and UKC GR CH, CH and obedience titled dogs, although he was only bred to six females, including the only obedience titled UKC GR CH  U-CDX Thunderpas Mighty Max, the infamous clown Farley (also GR CH U-CDX), Patti Lou, Jake, Storm, Stormy, my beloved Breaker, Nancy Hofman's Solo, Rosemary Stevens Gaea (the first female AKC CH), Shogun, Jaeger, and others who's claim to fame were their families. I am so grateful to have his granddaughter Meggie and great-granddaughter Isis. A small portion lives on in them.
